John DeGraaf, the President and founder of Triton Garage & Closet Systems, started business back in 1984 with his wife Trish as Furniture retailers. Soon after, John began designing and manufacturing furniture for their retail store in Tempe Arizona. This then grew into a large furniture manufacturing facility, serving retailers in most of the 50 states. Four kids later, Trish decided it was best to stay at home and take on full responsibility as a homemaker.
By the late 80's, early 90's the economy had changed and DeGraaf shifted gears to narrow the customer base to more higher end customers such as Robb & Stucky and other high end designers throughout the country.
Quality has always been first and foremost to DeGraaf. While most companies were trying to cut corners to deliver a mediocre product to customers with already low expectations John strived for a higher standard. In 1996, the company started looking for alternative products to increase their manufacturing capabilities. We were already transforming the inside of our customers’ homes, now it was time to bring that same high quality and style to the garage. We saw an industry known for "cheap" "flimsy", and just plain low quality products and knew we could not only make it better, we could make it affordable. Laughed at for trying to enter into an industry with such a bad name, John built his first line of Garage Cabinets in Late 1997. By 1998, Great Garage was born and in full production, so much so, that the Furniture manufacturing facility was sold off and the business became exclusively Garage cabinets.
By 2001, Great Garage was installing Cabinets in up to 10 garages per day! Soon afterward Epoxy Floor coatings were introduced to complete the perfect "Great Garage".
Late 2006, new equipment and technology made it possible to increase production without increasing costs and the new "Great Closets" line was formed. Great Closets was the perfect complement to the Great Garage line of cabinets. When homeowners are addressing their storage concerns they are likely to redesign their closets as well as the garage. The business owner that can meet their needs will be one step ahead of the competition. Great Closets has enjoyed steady growth since then mainly due to the attention to detail, quality materials and accessories Great Closets uses.
In 2007 we developed the Triton Garage and Closets Authorized Dealer Program. This is a business model that allows for the start up of an already successful business idea at a fraction of the cost. Triton now being the manufacture for already established, Great Garage. This is not a franchise and there are no royalty fees. This is your opportunity to get started in an industry that has unlimited potential. We welcome the chance to get to know you and let you get to know us better.
